Private Lessons, Workshops, and Lectures

I offer private lessons for students of all levels and abilities. only. My teaching style bridges the gap between traditional "ear to ear, eye to eye" Flamenco instruction and formal musical training based on notation and theory. Flamenco - proper technique, understanding Flamenco rhthyms, harmony, song forms, history, accompaniment, and solo skills.

Classical - proper technique, reading music, fretboard harmony, interpretation, and practice habits

Jazz - reading charts, chord melody, chord vocabulary, and harmony

Theory - reading standard notation, writing charts, circle of fifths, intervals, scales, chord progressions, etc...

Composition - transcription, analysis, ear training, writing rhythms, reharmonizations and practical applications of motific material

Private Guitar Lessons in Ventura with Berto - Rates for a (1) one hour private class are $60. Half Hour classes also available. I do offer scholarships and sliding scale rates for serious students who can't afford my hourly rate. Students are also welcome to bring a friend and share to cost of the lesson (fairly popular). Please make sure that both students are both at a comparible level.

Online (real-time) Video Lessons If you do not live close to me, you can still take lessons. All you need is a solid internet connection, and a web camera. Please inquire to find out about online rates and to schedule a class time.
